A Ministry of Hope and Joy: How We Shared God’s Love Over the Weekend
This past weekend was truly special for our team. We had joy and privilege of taking part in two inspiring events, both filled with faith, care, and heartfelt warmth.
On Saturday, we were in Starokostiantyniv, where we joined fellow believers in united prayer for peace in Ukraine. That same day, we had a moving encounter with internally displaced people — those who were forced to leave their homes but held on to faith and hope. Many of them are already familiar with the small but very active Baptist church “Bethlehem”, which faithfully serves the needs of the displaced and vulnerable.
We were honored to be part of this ministry: sharing the Word of hope, singing spiritual songs that touched the soul, serving warm tea, coffee, and sweets, and distributing food packages. And, of course, our signature hot dog — lovingly prepared in our mobile kitchen (food truck), affectionately nicknamed “The Ark” by the locals — became a true symbol of warmth and care. The smiles on the faces of those who had endured loss and hardship were the greatest reward we could receive.
On Sunday, we traveled to the village of Demkivtsi to take part in a joyful Family Day celebration. Despite the heavy rain, many children and parents came out to join the fun. The day was filled with laughter, games, exciting contests, uplifting Christian songs, and delicious treats we brought along.
We ended the day by singing and praying together — for peace, for families, for Ukraine, and for those who are still hurting and searching for hope.
This weekend reminded us once again: even in the darkest times, God’s love shines through kind actions and open hearts.
We thank God for the privilege of being His hands and voice where they are most needed.
